Lighting Components and Design, Inc., (LC&D) was formed in 1993
to acquire the assets and product line of Leecraft Manufacturing
Inc. Leecraft, established in 1946, was (and still is) a major provider
of Lighting Assemblies, Components, Harnesses and LED Optoelectronic
devices to the automotive industry.
Since
1993, LC&D has significantly expanded the Leecraft product line,
aggressively investing in increasing its custom design, technical
support and manufacturing capabilities. The company abandoned Leecraft's
former dependence on high volume, low margin market segments and
now serves a balanced set of customers, applications and industries.
These include Transportation, Distribution, Appliances,
Emergency Lighting, Gaming, Signs, Billboards, Displays, etc.
In
1999, LC&D acquired the Littelites product line from Littelfuse,
Inc., a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Littelites
is a well-known quarter-century old product line complementary to
LC&D's Leecraft line.
Sales
have more than doubled in the past few years. These increases
are substantially due to LC&D's core Leecraft business, with
only a small part of the increase due to the Littelites acquisition.
Sales are on track to continue this substantial growth with record-breaking
levels of proposals in process, incoming orders, sales rates and
backlogs.
