Today Jon Cooper, President of Lighting Components and Design, Inc. (LC&D) announced it had formed a Strategic Alliance with Merrill Lynch’s Business Financial Services Unit.

Cooper said, in part:

"The alliance with Merrill Lynch will expand our access to the capital markets significantly, providing short term and long term financing for current operations, growth and potentially, for future acquisitions."

"We have more than doubled sales of our Leecraft line of miniature lighting components in just a few years, and will continue on that track as a key element of our dual-track five year growth strategy."

"The second element of that strategy is growth through "selective strategic acquisitions" focused on horizontal integration by acquiring product lines and companies having similar products or manufacturing processes, and ‘orphan’ product lines of much larger companies."

"When the right opportunity arises, its great knowing we have the financial resources of Merrill Lynch in our corner, in addition to maintaining our classical banking relationship with Nations Bank and other financing sources.
