Cooper, President of Lighting Components and Design, Inc. (LC&D)
announced that his company had been nominated and is a Finalist for
Year 2000 Manufacturing Awards.
Awards
are Granted Annually by the Business Journal in Association with the
Florida Manufacturing Technology Center, an Affiliate of Enterprise
Florida.
Awards
categories include Companies with 25 or fewer employees; 26-99 employees
and over 100 employees. LC&D, with over 200 employees, will be competing
in the top category.
Cooper
said, "It looks like well be competing with the big boys
this year, Motorola, Siemens and the like. We're honored to be considered
among such outstanding world-class companies, but I almost wish we were
still a small company and being measured against companies more our
size."
Awards
are decided based on six criteria, impartially evaluated by an independent
Judging Committee selected by the Sponsors. Criteria are:
