Summary
Jon Cooper,
President of Lighting Components and Design, Inc., discussed plans for
continued record sales growth for the three-year period 1998-2001 at
their Customer Briefing Center in Deerfield Beach, Florida, today.
Citing
its 1999 and 2000 sales and backlogs, combined with new orders in process
and products under development, he stated:
- 1999
Sales Grew 41% over 1998.
- Only
10% of that 41% growth was through acquisition (of the Littelites
Line), the balance, 31% was from its core Leecraft business.
- Year
2000 sales are projected to grow by 30% over 1999.
- Three-year
growth from 1998 to 2001 is expected to be 100% to 125%, based on
continued good economic conditions.
- New
product developments and product line acquisitions are excluded from
the above numbers and represent a significant additional upside potential.

Complete
Story
"LC&D
designs, manufactures and markets products under the Leecraft and Littelites
trade names. We provide a wide range of Standard and Custom Designed
Lampholders, Indicator Lights, LED Modular Arrays, Circuit Board Indicators,
Wiring Harnesses and Assemblies.
"Our
company markets its products to OEMs and Distributors in a wide range
of industries: Automotive, Electronics, Appliance, Emergency Lighting,
Signs, Displays, Gaming, etc.
Year- to-
date sales growth exceeds even 1999s record increase, while Shipments,
Backlogs and Incoming Orders continue to climb.
"With
1999s sales results (Y/T/D + balance of the year) virtually "in
the bag," I can make the following projections and comparisons
with a high degree of confidence:
- "LC&D
experienced 41% year-to-year sales growth for 1999 vs. 1998, with
our Backlogs and Incoming Orders at record high levels.
- Most
of that growth came from our core Leecraft product line (31% of the
41%); the balance, 10%, came thought our acquisition of the Littelites
line in June 1999.
- "The
synergy between the lines and their channels of distribution being
an added bonus as the Leecraft and Littelites lines continue to meet
or exceed expectations.
- "Sales
growth is projected to exceed 75% for 2000 vs. 1998, about 30% over
1999 on a much higher sales base, with 8 months already under our
belt.
- "100%
to 125% Growth is conservatively projected for 2001 vs. 1998 based
on year to date results, backlogs and proposals in process, with significant
"upside" potential if the economy continues its long
term upwards trend."
- "Dollar
sales are confidential, but I can say that the annual increase in
year-to-year dollar sales will grow each year as well (1998-2001).
- "These
projections are reasonably conservative and assume no fundamental
change in operations and product lines.
- "We
continue to seek out new business opportunities through new product
development and acquisition. (None are assumed in our volumes projections).
- "Recently
we increased our focus on new product development and advanced lighting
technologies, adding incremental headcount to support those efforts.
However, the fruits of those efforts may take 1-3 years before appearing
in the market place and would only serve to increase the above projections.
