A goal
of ISO/TS 16949:2002 is the development of a QMS that provides for continual
improvement, emphasing detection, prevention and the reduction of variation
and waste in the supply chain. This includes specific requirements of
the automotive segment, such as the error proof approach, multidisciplinary
approach and customer agreement for service rendering. Certification
assures that the quality management system employed by LC&D is applicable
to the design, manufacture and service of products supplied to the automotive
industry.
With the
success of achieving the ISO/TS 16949:2002 Certification, LC&D continues
to meet the quality management system requirements in the areas of design,
development, production and service demanded by LC&D’s worldwide
customers. The benefits of certification include the utilization of
process-based audits, focusing on customer satisfaction, continual improvement
programs, performance measurements, global acceptance of the standard,
and the incorporation of improvements developed through the implementation.
“The
conquest of ISO/TS 16949:2002 is the result of LC&D’s continuing
journey toward world-class excellence in design, quality and delivery.
", highlights Jon Cooper, President. According to Cooper, achieving
this certification will be an indispensable requirement for LC&D
and any company negotiating with major corporations of the industry,
anywhere in the world.
Ty Ramsey,
VP of Performance Excellence said: "The ISO/TS 16949:2002 standard
is the worldwide quality benchmark for automotive industry suppliers.
As one of the first organizations to successfully transition to this
new standard, LC&D reinforces its position as a leader amongst automotive
industry suppliers. The standard's process driven management approach
is perfectly aligned with LC&D's overall management philosophy and
our Quality Policy. Ultimately, this certification will allow us to
