Lighting Components & Design, Inc. increases
Insert and Over-Molding Capacity

Summary

Lighting Components and Design, Inc., Manufacturer of the Leecraft and Littelites Lines of Miniature Lights and Assemblies have recently increased their insert, reel to reel and over-molding capacity with the purchase of three Nissei injection-molding machine.

Complete Story

Lighting Components & Design, Inc. has recently purchased three Nissei injection-molding machines. The group includes a TH100R3S12V, TH60R5ASE and a TD10025ASE. This will dramatically increase LC&D’s capacity for insert, reel to reel and over-molding.

Over-molding and insert molding are one of LC&D’s core competencies. This expertise requires specific tooling and processing knowledge to ensure clean shut-offs for each injection cycle. Customers benefit by eliminating assembly operations, decreased number of parts, enhanced product quality, and increased design flexibility. Per Jacob Rosales, LC&D’s R&D Manager, “Insert and over-molding have been a common practice at LCD since we first started injection molding in 2000. LC&D provides economical tooling options so you can decide what best meets you needs.”

Jon Cooper, President likes that “NISSEI continuously explores innovations in the plastics industry in every aspect to respond to diversified market needs. These machines offer workable solutions for specialized molding applications."

Ty Ramsey, VP of Performance Excellence says, “The Nissei TH Series mold clamping cylinder is located in the bed implementing a injection unit placement for floor space reduction. This allows us to increase our capacity with out the additional cost of leasing more space.”

“We believe with the addition of these molding machines to our Molding Department, LC&D is more responsive to our customers growing demands for miniature lighting component design,” said Jon Cooper, President.
